You don't need to look any further than the latest efforts being made by the NYS Canal Corporation, to find and repair embankment issues west of Rochester, to truly understand just how much danger this Facebook group wants to ignore...

There has been a tremendous outpouring from the STCC founders about their 'member count on Facebook' of late, and it just needs to be put into perspective.

There are really only a few people who are regular posters there, and we are sure that many of them just clicked on "FOLLOW" and suddenly, they have become members of this radical group who spread misinformation and ignore the fact that many of our residents could drown because of the deplorable state of the canal embankments.
 
Do they believe all the hype? Very doubtful!

On the other hand, the ECNA's www.change.org/ErieCanalDam petition page has 498 signatures, all of whom state they support the NYPA in their desire to repair and bring up to code, these dilapidated dams.

These are commitments, not just Facebook clicks!  Quite the difference methinks.
