Back in 2017, a group of local residents and a Boy Scout pack cleaned up a derelict strip of land between Minerva Deland playing fields and the Oxbow Lake area. It was the original path of the old canal, a 4' deep  channel that had approximately 70 small houses built on the old towpath.
Most of the properties were burned down, there was only one inhabited and two  others not used. They all eventually burned down, we think by vandals.

The overall result was an area infested with ragweed, and bittersweet vines, old tires, scrap metal, barbed wire and general junk. The Canal Corporation issued The Boy Scouts a permit to clean it up.

As the work progressed, Ms Agte and her group entered the scene, and posted this SIGN on a tree on 20th May 2017.

And this folks, was the start of the STCC.

These folks actually harassed the Boy Scouts as they were cleaning up the area. Some of these kids were afraid and distressed by the harassment. Agte & Co told the Canal Corp we were spraying Roundup everywhere (an absolute lie), that we'd cut down perfectly good trees, (another lie), and that they wanted it to remain as it was.

If you go to and scroll through it, you'll see what the ECNA actually did to the Oxbow, and what it looks like today.

A Certificate of Authenticity
This certifies that The Oxbow Environmental Quorum meet on this spot for the first time on this date to protect the habitat of a place of natural beauty and home to non-humans

Natural beauty? It was a garbage tip - worthy enough for the Canal Corp to issue a Clean up Permit! Non-humans? Good grief!

Now!  I ask you! Have you ever read or heard of such drivel?

And they actually posted this on a pole, along with a sign saying "No Pesticides', the implication being we were spraying Roundup.

Wet as a can of water! (See!  I told you she was crazy!)

And that folks, is how Agte got involved on her misguided lying nonsense and formed the Stop the Clear Cut fiasco.
