Go and take a look at this NY Canal Corp Safety discussion in Perinton... think about the cost of video production, and time to get this message out. The safety message hasn't change from the NY canal folks but as delays keep the restoration work from being completed, the urgency of the safety issue will only grow. It is critical that the Erie Embankments are brought into safety compliance for a long list of reasons, all of which would have a negative impact on it's neighbor's if they are left  in their current, designated unsafe, state.

All of this Canal Corp warning is going on while a group on Facebook called Stop the Clear Cut is trying to stop the restoration of the Erie Canal. The STCC continues to operate freely in the Perinton area saying "There is NO safety issue" while the NY Canal Corporation is saying the direct opposite.. and folks, THEY own the Erie Canal. Not sure why someone from the west side has to point this out to Perinton residents, but it's time to make up and smell the coffee.
