NEWS FLASH - APRIL 1, 2022

Right on schedule, the New York State Canal Corporation (NYSCC) released it's long awaited FINAL document package for their Embankment Maintenance Program today.

And the ECNA has reviewed all of the FINAL documents for changes and additions

Under the Embankment Maintenance Best Practices, here's the Top 5 statements being made by the NYSCC:

1) Remove ALL invasive vegetation, including trees, along ALL earthen water impoundments making up the Erie Canal Navigation Trail.

2) Restore EVERY INCH of Erie Canal Embankments with NY State approved Earthen Dam Turf Grass (#04012022 - Green)

3) Remove ALL social media protesters, chained to Canal Embankment Trees, BEFORE cutting starts, to keep NYS Canal embankments clean & safe.

4) Stop EEIP discussion with ANY Social Media groups who fails to recognize the inherent danger of high-hazard embankments in their community

5) Conduct ALL Erie Canal Earthen Embankment Inspections at night, to minimize the impact of social media disinformation on the safety process.

Under the Public Input Summary, here's the Top 3 statements being made by the NYSCC:

1) There were 628 signatures from, social media sources, that said the same exact thing - " We like Trees, don't cut them down"

2) 857 comments were collected from Canal Neighbors & Communities that said - "Don't listen to or let Social Media BIAS dictate Erie Canal Safety in NY.

3) There were 10 changes made to the Embankment Maintenance Release package as a result of input received from the Erie Canal Neighbors Assc.

So there you have it folks, another BIG WIN for NYS Canal Safety and the New York Power & Canal Authority, who win the day with TRUTH & SCIENCE.

Was there any doubt this would be the eventual outcome?

And another devastating blow to all those naysayers on social media, who tried to stop a public safety program using a campaign of disinformation, distraction & pure denial, choosing to disregard known facts regarding Dam Safety in New York State

And this is what happens when you spread disinformation about Earthen Embankment Safety or deny it's a community problem...

You get left OUT of the conversation.

Seems the STCC isn't going to get a say in Canal Safety, and it doesn't really matter...Kevin Gallagher says it all.

Kevin Gallagher - There is always that late Friday afternoon announcement dump trick (to try to avoid the news cycle) that they might try. I don't believe we'll fall for that.

So no matter what information gets released, regarding Embankment Safety, this Facebook Group (and members) believe it's some sort of "trick" and they won't "fall for it". Not sure what this means.

Fall for what?... the TRUTH?

Once again this group shows their true colors...and you can paint them as Canal Safety "denialist" once again.

They won't "fall" for the truth from the NYS Canal Corporation about Erie Canal Embankment Maintenance, Integrity, & Safety

I have said it before, and I can repeat it here...

I'll stop spreading the TRUTH about Erie Canal Embankment Dam safety when a local social media group stops spreading disinformation and lying about it.

The day the Stop the Canal Clear-cut group shutters it's doors on Facebook, is the day we remove this ECNA Forum Board from use. Until then... laugh it up.
