It's obvious that she's rattled!

This proves it!

AND - she still doesn't get it!

"we have a legion of canal warriors who still care about the Erie Canal, its history, its ecology, its importance to local economy, and the wildlife it harbors."

Nowhere does she consider the welfare of the many folks living UNDER the shadow of this dangerous earthen embankment dam!

She's oblivious to their welfare, and resorting to the old line of twaddle so typical of her.

Ah! Well! I think folks are beginning to realize their war is lost.

Hopefully the few politicians backing this lame horse will wake up.

Against my better judgement I will weigh in, but as many of YOU have figured out already, this Facebook group, and it's leadership, simply avoid the "truth". It's not worth the time or effort to educate them, and if you are reading this post, then you have already chosen to "ignore the darkside".

Especially when it comes to the Facebook group's own "little war" they have waged against the New York State Canal Corporation (NYSCC) and parent agency, the New York Power Authority (NYPA)

Interesting term used by the Group's Founder & Leader... to her legion of "canal warriors":

Please tell our esteemed Senator Samra Brouk, that "we haven't flagged"

Very sure that the Facebook Group co-founder/leader was thinking about this definition, for "unflagged".

But honesty, the numbers for the Stop the Canal Clear-cut group tell the real story here:

A group, that is supposed to be chock full of "loyal" environmental warriors has now seemingly grown tired of the lies & rhetoric from leadership after 5 years.

Few of the 1000+ members can even muster up a smiley face or thumbs up emoji anymore, and even fewer take the time to do ANYTHING that their fearless leader asks for.

A whopping 1% of the group actually liked the post, and only .002% of the membership replied...It did have two replies and only ONE person said they wrote to Senator Brouk.

You do the math, in a group of this size the engagement of others is at an all time low. People are LEAVING the group as well, just last week they had close to 1150 members, now it's gone down by almost 5%.

This doesn't seem to be signs of a thriving, engaged environmental group, united in a common cause, does it?

And the only people who seem to reply are mainly those who aren't worth listening to. A disgraced "ex-Mayor" of Pittsford, and an online "radio host", who some say shouldn't even be on the internet airwaves in the Rochester area.

Its Ms. Lorraine Parr, again, adding her spin, this is from someone who has stopped using her "real name" on the absurd online posts she writes... she now represents Shakeup Rochester.

Sadly the same thing happens over and over, despite all of the "internet safety mechanisms" used to deter false claims, mis-information and conspiracy talk, which is about 98% of what comes from this group.

Facebook won't act, and Google still keeps the STCC Google Page up and running... not willing to PROPERLY "flag" a group that operates on fake facts, outrageous opinion, and are dedicated to the Art of Denial of the truth about Erie Canal Embankment Integrity.

According to the Interweb... this Facebook Group (and it's leadership) should have been flagged long ago.

And just by the sheer numbers of this Facebook group's membership, many who no longer support the group with likes, posts or any other form of communication, these folks show that the real TRUTH is simple...

That the definition for FLAGGING is what fit's best for this Metaworld to group right now.

The majority of the STCC membership is simply being "complicit" by their own silence, when most, if not all, have heard the message, and decided to NOT be involved anymore.

Sadly, the leaders of this group are ignoring the silence of their own members, and simply point at their "thousands of warriors", unwilling to accept that few if any are truly engaged in their hapless fight for "shade".

With the STCC group membership declining and an Embankment Manual & SEQR Review stating this "shade thing" is really about Dam Safety, it's now obvious that the Founder of this Facebook group is up against what she never wanted to face... the TRUTH.

So now the Group Founder is taking her conversations private, in a group that boasts being "open to the PUBLIC" and being bi-partisan.

As that old saying goes... all good things come to an end.

Doug, There's nothing good about Eerie Agte.

So, she's gone to ground - again. That can only encourage more to leave this misguided group.

I guess our work is coming to a close here!

Guess I should have clarified what the "good" thing was, that is coming to an end... very soon.

It's the ECNA's continued coverage of this dysfunctional, socially-irresponsible Facebook group, along with the rantings of its failed leadership.

The Erie Canal Neighbors Association has seen enough, time to "leave the chaff behind".

And for those who haven’t heard the phrase before, here is what "Gone to Ground" means:

Go to Ground - means to hide, to become inaccessible, to disappear from the scene, often for a lengthy period of time.

Yes, that is a British term, originally from Fox Hunting, when the fox escaped, and made it back to its den or burrow. Seems identical to the American phrase "gone underground" which is used to describe a similar disappearing act...Going Underground is a tactic often used in America, as the best way to "save face"... simply disappear from all the "public scrutiny".

By the way, that public scrutiny, it was most likely showing that the person or the ideal was all wrong to begin with... as is this particular case with the STCC group.

And it appears that the Merriam Webster definition of "underground" fits this Facebook group rather well...

Adverb, noun or adjective, it's all the same: against the norm, against the known truth and pushing for "civil disorder"
