Great idea Mike, letting this group know that there may have been a block of data that looks strange because it's all the same... as a statistician it's hard to sometime understand what happened on an online public survey. I went to the survey as well...and was a little more direct on my answers...and information I shared.

There were questions that allowed Comments as Answers...here's a few answers I posted to the survey questions:
ANSWER: People that are protesting safety repairs along the canal.
ANSWER: People trying to prevent unsafe embankments from being properly repairedOf course it was a comment so I also added a list of names:

ANSWER: Providing a safer Erie Canal Trail & System Conditions:
1) Remove dangerous overhead tree limbs
2) Repair all unsafe earthen embankment dams
3) Properly inspect and repair current canal deficiencies
My answer here was VERY SPECIFIC and hopefully the people collecting the survey information will use it to "sort" data so there survey is normalized.
Your Erie Canal survey has been compromised by a group from Facebook called the Stop the Canal Clear-cut (STCC). The group's leadership has basically told it's members to answer your survey (this question in particular) with mis-information, inaccurate truth, and are campaigning to leave a public safety issue, with unsafe embankments along the canal, UNREPAIRED, in spite of all science stating Trees on Dams Kill People.

The final survey question says it all:
I suggest anyone who uses the Erie Canal, especially it's Waterway & Trail, to go and take the survey... please put in your OWN answers and be honest. The survey is meant to drive an understanding about use and what is working and what is not for NYS Canal System users... and normally drives improvements or money to be allocated for safety & repairs.
