They (he) asked! And all they got was 'crickets'!

But then, Mr Gallagher should have known that.

The Canal Corp et al are not speaking to these folks any more, it seems.

Can't say I blame them!
Firstly, it's a waste of breath, as they have found over the past 4 years.

Secondly, no point it trying to explain to people who have no dam experience (take that dam both ways).

Thirdly, it's none of their dam business!

Fourth It looks like Kev has already made up his mind that he knows the answer - but that is pure conjecture!

Good grief!

Now, I ask you folks, does he really believe that these people with degrees and letters after their names, and many years of practical experience, have no idea what this equipment and veggie removal is capable of?

The mind boggles at Kev's gormlessness!

And then - we get a cricket noise!   -----

Filter blankets? Ponds?

So Rich, having turned up empty on Google searches, decides to start guessing, - and then guessing even further.

Guys  You are making fools of yourselves!  Why don't you give this nonsense up. The canal, thankfully, is in good hands, and even more thankfully not in yours. Go take up lawn bowls or gardening.

Thank you Mike... I learned a valuable new word today.

Gormless- Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster

the quality or state of lacking intelligence or quickness of mind.

the backbencher professed himself horrified by the gormlessness and na´vetÚ of the prime minister.

Speaking of lawn bowling or gardening...

Once the Erie Canal Embankments, east of Rochester, are cleared and planted with grass & "shrub gardens", we are quite sure that the Canal Corporation will be looking for community support & volunteers to help maintain those "pollinators" that the STCC requested.

Look for a new program, with new guidelines, for adding "beauty" to the restored, grass-covered, and much safer, earthen embankments. Then everyone will be happy-ish.

And all of this will be something snickered about at canalside dinner parties in Perinton
