A SEQR report etc. And now they have it --
https://www.canals.ny.gov/Earthen_Embankment/DGEIS/2021-03-09_DRAFT_FINAL_Embankment_Maintenance_Guidebook.pdfBUT, typical of a group in denial, they are still griping.

It's all a SHAM say Janice (BTW she doesn't even live on the canal now)
Bill Moehle STILL thinks the Town of Brighton has options, and is going to waste more of the Brighton taxpayer's money on attorney fees (who must be getting his wheelbarrow ready to take all that cash to the bank).
And Lizzy doesn't feel the document is in good faith. It doesn't agree with your position Lizzie, that the only problem, isn't it!
She even thinks that 'man made breaches' are different somehow to a 'regular' breach. It's a breach, whatever or whomever made it. It still counts Liz!
I've gone through this document, and it seems to have covered everything very thoroughly, even explaining 'Phreatic Lines' and the difference between 'Levees and Earthen Embankment dams'.
Much mention in this document of the 'rules' of dam construction techniques, even with pretty drawings and photos, but if your eyes are 'closed' I guess you can't see these common sense answers to the STCC arguments.
Methinks the chain saws are being sharpened!
I guess it's just more "sour grapes" from a group who got what they asked for, and still doesn't like it one bit...
Because the message is the same...
The NYS Canal Corporation has stated again that unsafe Canal Embankments WILL be repaired and brought up to 21st Century standards, and that means "compatible vegetation" will be required, rooted vegetation will have to go.
