Spotted by an STCC fan, several photos of surveying equipment posted on the STCC Facebook page

If you read the bio of the Schnabel Company, you'll see they are deeply into canals, dams and other water management systems.

"Specializing in geotechnical, dam, and tunnel engineering services"

And it appears that Mr. Mellen is also a beekeeper, like Ms. Agte but with only 2 folks to talk to on his Facebook page he has a bigger audience for his piffle.

It's not hard to see that if any of these Facebook geniuses would simply take a moment to do even cursory look at Canal Integrity & Maintenance information, they would know what's going on... It's called Public Safety in Action along the Erie Canal.

I'm not sure it's a lack of understanding with these social media misfits. It appears to be a combination of denialism & conspiracy talk.

The STCC group claims normal Erie Canal Embankment Inspection & Maintenance is really hiding the "destruction" of a national treasure.

It's simply crazy talk... from crazy people.

Anytime the Canal Corporation is tending to their own property, or having another company perform much needed inspection, this group & its members believe its for some "nefarious purpose".

Not sure when Public Safety activities turned into something we should all dread, but again you must consider the source here...

It's Facebook, and this group exemplifies just how bad these "anti-social" media sites have now become with all this new negativity towards federal & state agencies.

It's now become a breeding ground for miscreants and idiots
